Pääsiäistä
Pääsiäistä is Easter in Finnish. In Finland and the other Nordic countries, the Christian holiday is celebrated and preceded by 40 days of Lent, which many observe by periods of fasting and prayer.
Depending on your religious beliefs, you may also be celebrating Passover, Ramadan or Holi during this time of year. Many also observe secular, or non religious, celebrations of spring and rebirth.
All of these holidays unite us, regardless of our individual beliefs, and remind us of the strength of faith, community and spiritual renewal. Tolerance and acceptance of others is what we should be celebrating. Every day.
A touch of madness in the spring
Is wholesome even for the king
But God be with the fool who views
This entire scene
This experiment in green
As if it were his own.
— Emily Dickinson
