The cabins then and now
Recently a friend sent me dozens of old photos of the cabins, mostly from the 1960s when her parents and aunt and uncle first started visiting Otter Lake. It is so fun to see all the changes over the years!
Just a few to highlight:
🗝️ Picture windows were added to cabins 1 and 4, replacing the much smaller original paned windows facing the lake
🗝️ The handrail on the cabin 1 staircase was moved from the right to left side
🗝️ Decks or porches have been built on all the cabins
🗝️ Signs were added identifying each cabin by their Finnish name that corresponds to their number (1-7)
🗝️ All the trees have grown and several have been removed, including the prominent one in front of cabin 6
